Sunday night, I went to see Little Miss Sunshine. Good movie. Very funny, though slightly dark. Also, the scenes with the child beauty pageants were really creepy. I was hoping to see my town, Redondo Beach, since that was where the characters were headed in the movie. However, when they got there, it definitely wasn't Redondo, but rather some other place (probably in Orange County). Disappointing.

When I was little, there was a grocery in town called Honiotis (spelling?) on Jefferson street. I remember going there with my Dad and Grandma to get her groceries. They sometimes had the bagger push the cart of groceries out to the car while they finished paying. Now, the reason I remember this is that on at least one occasion, they had the bag boy push the cart out to the car with me still seated in the cart's child seat. Yeah, that was weird. I'm just sitting there, staring at some teen-age kid who is pretending there isn't a three year-old sitting twelve inches from his face while he pushes the cart across the lot. I really didn't know what to say about the situation. I still don't.

One year ago today, I moved to California. I guess this is a big deal, but I don't feel anything. I'm just amazed at how quickly the time passed. Well, back to rushing on with life...

Yesterday I saw videos of Transportation Security Administration (TSA) agents confiscating containers of liquids from passengers waiting to board aircraft. They suspected the vessels might contain liquid explosives such as nitroglycerin. In these videos, the TSA is just tossing the containers into large trash bins. Now, why would anyone throw a container they honestly suspect may contain such a dangerously impact-sensitive explosive such as nitroglycerin?
Let's say it together, shall we? KNEE-JERK NON-SENSICALITY!!!
